Why, Why, WWWWHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYY!!!???!!!

We left Bode's beloved blanket at Chili's. Not five minutes after getting home I call and ask them to hold it for me. They say, "Sure, no problem." Andy goes to get it, it's nowhere.
I get a call from the manager today who explained that he willingly and knowingly THREW IT IN THE TRASH.
"Is there anything I can do to make up for this?" he asks.
"No," is all I can get out before the tears start to come.
"The next time you're in, please ask for me so I can meet your son," he cheerfully says.
I can't answer.
I didn't cry at my own wedding but I can't pull it together long enough to tell the Chili's manager good-bye because I am sobbing over a blankie. What has happened to me, you ask? I've become a mother.

Sorry Son, your blankie is now in a trash heap with leftover chips and salsa and chicken crispers. I am devastated.

I think you could've gotten some free meals, or he should've offered them to you, obviously he's not a parent...

I'm crying. Really.

But now I'm thinking, maybe you should accidently leave all pacifiers as well.....

Sorry. Just trying to make myself laugh and stop crying.

Oh no!!!!!! That is what I was going to say too, he's must NOT be a parent!

I am seriously angry at that guy! Why in the world would he throw it away!?! Poor Bode :(

Seriously, he THREW IT AWAY?

That is crazy inconsiderate. Even not being a parent, he should have the common sense to know this obviously is an important article in a household. You took it to out to eat with you, for Pete's sake. (Whoever Pete is) Seems like he should rectify it.

Ever heard of dumpster diving???

Oh Summer. Oh Bode. I am so sorry. This makes me tear up. We love blankeys at our house and I am so sorry that some idiot threw yours away Bode.

Seriously, that manager is an idiot. He myst have been reading his ID-10-T Manual instead of the Chilis training manual. It isn't like you left it there for 3 days or something. Totally ridiculous. I would be down there talking to the guy.

Which Chili's is it? I'm driving to OKC and taking him out.

I also think you should take Bode up there just before nap and let him squall about his blankie in the middle of the lunch rush.

I'm voting for the whole taking Bode up there when he's really upset about not having his blanket idea and let the manager meet him then. We'd have some rough nights without Rachel's blanket. So sorry.

So everyone jumped on the comments and said everything I thought.

Maybe by now you can repeat after me:

Things don't matter. Things don't matter.

Think Bode would say that? :(

That is just wrong, I lost my 'blankie' at the age of 21 and I was devastated...I can't imagine losing it at such a young age, that is not right

If it's the manager at Chilis that I know, I'm totally not surprised.

I'm in agreement with the other commenters that asked -- why in the world would he throw it away??? Even if he's not a parent, people know kids have attachment objects. I'm so sorry Summer (and Bode)!

Oh, I would be ticked! and bawling like you. My babies can't survive without their blankets. Oh, I am so angry with you!

Who throws a blanket in the trash???

I would be bawling if that happened to us, too. I'm so sorry that happened! How is Bode doing w/out it??
