And to think we weren't going to have children

I have a confession to make: Andy and I did not want kids. Ever. Then one morning I woke up and thought I would absolutely die if I did not have a baby to dress up and take to church. Thus Mia.

I have another confession to make. After Mia was born we were done. Andy was really, really done and I was sorta done although I couldn't reconcile the fact that Mia would grow up and have no one to help her move us into the nursing home. Thus Bode.

And somehow these two little rugrats have come into our lives and made us complete.

Green is the new black.

Actually that title doesn't really relate to this post at all but I wanted to use it.
Bode has learned how to get the lid to the marker box open. There is at least one body part covered in marker at all times. If you think this bothers me in the least you would be wrong. I like green noses, and orange fingers, and red tummies with black outlined belly buttons, and blue arms, and....

Sorry, Ahmo

Not only does she sew, cook ,CHI her hair and occasionally flip off the camera , she also makes the best lotion ever. And if you don't mind, Ahmo, I need some more.

Random Thoughts Thursday

I have no thoughts today. Nothing. Except I have to pee.

Sing it, Sister

We like to start our mornings off with a little live music around here. This is the first of many shows that I will have the privilege of experiencing today.
And yes, those are Christmas pajamas. Don't judge....

New Camera Training

Self portrait - checkTeach Mia how to take my picture in case I am ever indisposed and need her to document the entire thing - checkSnapshot of the BFF's - check

Still life pic (or rather ant infested centerpiece that Mia created and then busted me trying to sneak into the trash)- check
Obligatory sibling bath/Bode's busted up forehead (yet again) pic - check
Proof that we really are white trash (the cinder blocks really just put us over the edge)- double check

It feels so good to have a camera that I know nothing about save the power button and the auto setting, I'm back baby!

Random Thoughts Thursday

So Andy caught wind of my plot to find the cutest camera and stepped in (my plan worked, mwah, hah, hah., hah, hah). The sot-so-pretty-but-very-practical-with-good-reviews-point-and-shoot should be here tomorrow. Woot, woot!
I got a haircut. I was starting to feel like a cross between Michelle Duggar and Crystal Gail (not that there's anything wrong with that). Thankfully I am now a little less this:
and this:

And a little more this:

Ok, I am not even close to looking like this, but a woman can always dream....

Mia successfully achieved her dream of spending 5 days with YaYa and DD (my parents). She is now going through the Grandparent Detox Program. Last night she was rocking back and forth in the floor of her bedroom crying, "I want to live with YaYa," over and over again. I think the straight jacket finally worked for her

It just dawned on me that I forgot to put on deoderant, so on that note I'll check ya later...

This is definitely a naked day

Some days are just too beautiful for clothing....

Different, but the same

No doubt, they are definitely siblings...

So my kid has a shoe fetish...

...so what. Bode has a thing for women's shoes. Does this make me uncomfortable? If it does, I'm certainly not going to admit it. I like living in denial.
Here he is in Raegan's shiny purple shoes: And here he is playing t-ball in heals:

There is lots of blog worthy stuff going on this weekend but seeing as how my camera is out of commission, it won't be documented. It's going to be slim pickins around this here blog until I can find me a pimped out camera on Amazon. Until then....

Random Thoughts Thursday

This post is partly inspired by my bff Gena and partly just to get my vomit covered rear-end out of site for a while. You're welcome.

Mia cried for 45 minutes yesterday because she couldn't decide which television program to watch. I am not exaggerating. She kept saying, "I just don't know... they are all good... I am never going to be able to do this...how can I decide....why is this happening to me..." Finally I told her that when I am having a hard time making decisions about things I pray about them and maybe we should pray and ask God what program she should watch. To which she replied, "He won't tell me, I know he won't....WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
I secretly prayed she wouldn't end up in a psychiatric ward someday.

My camera broke. I am buying a new one on Amazon. Andy said he wanted me to do all the research and decide which one to buy. I hate research. I am just going to pick the one I think is the cutest.

I have been fighting the urge to simultaneously drink a Starbucks coffee and a Sonic Diet Coke for a long time now. This is one of my ultimate fantasies. One in each hand, it is almost too much for me to handle.

I have secretly been looking into elective surgeries just so I can have a week in bed to myself.

Ok, I think I have sufficiently moved the pukebutt pictures down far enough so that they won't make me gasp in horror every time I load this page.

I just love all of ya'll!

This is so over the line

With much (ok, not that much) hesitation I present to you.....my butt. I realize this post has crossed the lines of decency and good taste, reveals just how low my standards really are, and definitely puts me into the white trash category. So here goes.
Ride Mommy like a horse time got a little out of control the other day and Bode ended up puking - right on my boo-tay. How did I know? I felt the warmth, that's all I'm sayin.

And being the considerate little puker that he is, he immediately ran to the bathroom and brought the tiniest piece of toilet paper known to man and proceeded to wipe it off. Now if that ain't precious I don't know what is.
And Mia, being a girl after my own heart, knows good (or hideous) blogging material when she sees it. Without prompting, she ran to the desk, got out the camera and documented the entire event, all for you, my blogging friends. If I had slightly more class and dignity I would have just pretended to post this as to satisfy her. But I don't.

If you never read this blog again I will not blame you.

A bag of beans kept my children occupied for exactly 5 minutes and 20 seconds. That's 85 cents well spent if you ask me (And we did eat them afterwards. There's nothing that a pot of boiling water won't kill, right?).
And no, I did not do this myself, although I will admit I was secretly delighted with her all-too-short-lived fascination with taping her mouth shut.

The road is marked with suffering

I don't usually get too serious on this here little blog. It's just not my thing. However, as I have become more involved (ok, obsessed) with the blogging community I have come across so many people in the throws of crisis. I have spent several nights tossing and turning, praying and crying out to God on behalf of people who's stories have touched me, changed me. And I am glad. Because I know that someday I will need the wonderful blogging community to cry out to God on my behalf. And beleive me, I will ask.

Here are a few people that are in need of prayers. If you know of others, please share. I am committed to praying these people through the desert places. Please join me. http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/ - Stephanie and her husband were badly burned in a plane crash. They have 4 beautiful children.

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

Cindy Loo Hoo

I should have named her Cindy...

BTW - The hair is done with a paper cup. I put the cup on her head and gathered up her hair around it. Amazingly, it stayed all day. And again, Ahmo pulled through on the cape. She cranked that baby out this weekend.
