This post in which I ask you to pray

Meet my sweet brother-in-law, Jeff.

Six years ago Jeff stepped on a stick.

Enter this:

That's right, this is all because of a stick.

Nine surgeries, hundreds of days without being able to work, constant pain, extended hospital stays, maggot therapy, infection after infection after infection, wheel chairs, walkers, crutches, canes, picc lines, iv antibiotics and facing a life-long disability are also all because of a stick.

I would be am bitter.  He is not.  He has never uttered a complaint, a "Why me?" a "How could a friggin' stick do this to me?" a "Why God?" nothing.

He is amazing.

And he desperately needs your prayers.

Sunday night, day 76 post ninth surgery, he was admitted back into the hospital, yet again.  His white blood count was a whopping zero, his picc line had to be removed, he had to discontinue the iv antibiotics that were supposed to be saving his foot from MRSA, and on and on and on it goes.

This mild-mannered, sweet, never complaining man is sick and needs prayers.

Please join me.

Through all of our fears, tears, and anxiety, we find peace and comfort in the power of our Lord. We draw encouragement, hope, and great thanks from every single prayer in which my husband is lifted up to God. A simple "Thank you" will never be able to express what your prayer has done for us.

Summer thank you for this. Very true...Jeff is an amazing man and Re is an amazing wife! Thankfully...God allows us to beg!

I might have thrown up and swallowed a little. I can't believe a stick from 6 years ago is doing this. Praying now. That is terrible.

Have been praying and will continue to. I am inspired by his courage and grace against such obstacles. His attitude is one I hope to mature into.

I just stumbled upon your post through a friends. I do not know his situation and do not want to sound harsh, but how long will they continue treatments and have the doctors considered amputation. I can not imagine suffering the pain and infection for so many years. I will be praying for him!
