Manic Monday

Oh how I love Mondays. Here is how the day's events played out yesterday.
First, my lovely daughter came out of her room with this letter written just for me:

"I thought you didn't love me anymore, but you did."
After I removed the dagger from my heart, I immediately destroyed my Mother Of The Year application.

Next these two darlings took a permanent sharpie marker to our desk. They were very thorough and left no part unmarked.

Then we had this lovely little incident:

This required Dad to come home from work and assist me in breaking the chair in order to dislodge our son's huge noggin.

And finally the piece de resistance - Bode decided to drop a huge load in the bathtub. You should thank me for not taking pictures of this disaster. So after getting both kids out, showering them off, putting all the toys in the dishwasher and cleaning out the tub Andy said, "I have decided that I would rather clean vomit out of the carpet than poop out of the tub."

This is the reality of parenthood.

Summer -

As the parent of two myself (9yrs and 9mos) I can totally relate! But, at the same time I must confess this is one of the best laughs I've had in awhile.

Deep breaths, and just remember... one day you'll miss them as they leave the nest and you'll long for the days when Bode got his head stuck in the chair legs. ;-)

Sounds like a fun day! Now what would you have to blog about if they sat like little adults and colored calmly all day?

For the sharpie, I must say, try magic erase. Best invention ever!

I have not experienced the head through a chair yet but with the size of Aidan's head its not going to be pretty. It runs in the family.

I shouldn't laugh, but I am. Hysterically.

I love how you took the time to photograph Bode stuck in the chair!

How in the world did he get like that? I'm totally cracking up!

Sharpies came off of our wood desks and bed with just rubbing alcohol! Didn't damage the wood at all. Sounds eventful.

Okay who hasn't pooped in the tub??? When you gotta go...

Okay I love the fact that you were snapping pictures of him trapped. That makes me cry tears of joy! I can totally see you going through the thought process "he's not hurt, yet he can't move from there...hmmmmmm, let's leave him!"

Hey, you've gotta do something while Andy's driving home. Sorry about the sharpie. I'm sure I know the culprit........

Seriously...you need to call a publisher. It's time for you to write a book. You are hilarious so there's the bright side to your manic days...you bring other people joy! L O L

Your kids are just making sure you have enough fodder for the blog. You really should be thanking them and rewarding them - I'm thinking a bottle of bleach for Bode and counseling for Mia. Thanks for the nice hard laugh!

Ok, I seriously can never complain about a bad day. I think that takes the cake.

After the bathtub "incident" last night (through the laughter) I am beginning to rethink this whole "having a kid of my own" thing. Can I do that now?

One time I did that in the tub when I was little, I would not take a bath without sitting on a washcloth for many, MANY years afterwards. Hopefully Bode won't have those compulsive-ish tendencies.

Oh my, sounds like you have had a week like I have had! My 2 year old son colored all over my dining room table with black sharpie! Can't get it off, I am devastated! UGH.
