Today Mia is eight.
Her ears are now pierced, she attempts to fix her own hair, and her teeth are huge.
She is the most wonderful eight-year-old girl I have ever met.
She's complicated, bossy, sensitive, nurturing, and inherently creative.
She's her Father in drag.
And I wouldn't have her any other way.
Happy 8th birthday, Mia.
Your party isn't planned, I haven't gotten to the store to get you a present yet, and your birthday outfit isn't ironed.
And yet you love me anyway.
I'm so blessed to be your frazzled Mommy.

Happy Birthday to Miss Mia!! Hope she has a wonderful 8th Birthday!!
From now on, all of your house pictures will look fabulous, open, and airy. Forget the house, that is the sweetest eight year old girl I have ever seen. I love her hugs, I love the way she thinks when you are speaking to her, I love that she is serious yet silly, and I love that she can get along with anyone. She is precious, and I would do anything for that sweet big-toothed eight year old. Never change Mia R.
Love you, sweet girl. I can't believe it's been 8 years since you commanded your first audience in the hospital room. Your very own entourage at 10 minutes old, and we're still in awe!
