If you snooze you lose.

Bode can sniff an abandon ice cream cup a mile away. So much for that first birthday party having any firsts.

I love my little punks

And thank you to all the punks out there that gave me Starbucks gift cards for my birthday. I will take all the help I can get to maintain my habit.
And I will go ahead and admit that I stole my new favorite word from this lady. If she can call her kids punks then so can I.

Hand, foot, and mouth party, anyone? Look, the evidence of clothing:

Monday, July 7, 2008

Are you starting to see a theme here?

Despite what you may think, my children do, in fact, own clothing. I just don't see the point in them wearing it when it is so stinkin' hot and they are just going to get them filthy. Now that, my friends, is my way of going green. Quote of the day: After Mia had a complete meltdown because I couldn't make the train track the way Daddy does it, "See Mom, Daddy and I are smart. We know how to do this the right way because we are both so smart. Maybe you will learn someday."

My response (in my head, I promise): "You're not so smart when you're dead."

Man versus Wild

1 choking 10 month old + 1 call to 9-1-1 + 1 completely freaked and panicked mother + calm, nice lady on the phone talking me through the steps to dislodge cracker + 1 ambulance + 1 firetruck + 1 little girl in nothing but panties and her mom's high heel shoes = 1 VERY close call.
Note to self: Your infant son with only four teeth probably can't handle an entire Ritz cracker. You need to get a clue woman.

Independence Day

You're lookin' at the two reasons I am blogging right now instead of watching fireworks.
The one who couldn't wait to see them; saliva and gum hanging out of mouth, no shirt, no clue:The one who should have been sound asleep without a care in the world but instead is laughing maniacally while simultaneously puking all over himself and his carseat (and no it's not just you, that is a crazy look in his eye):
And while we're on the subject, I am going on record to say that there is no independence day in this house. We lost our independence on October 4, 2004 and it looks like we will be prisoners of war until about 2025, when our last child flies the coop or we change the locks, whichever happens first. Do I miss my days of freedom? Getting to eat in restaurants without making multiple apologies to wait staff and surrounding customers, discussing movies that don't have animated characters in them, reading books without pictures? Of course. Would I go back? Never.

My Golden Girl

Not in the I'm-a-tramp-and-proud-of-it sort of way, more in the I'm-sassy-and-fun-and-Big Daddy-thinks-I'm-irresistible sort of way.

The above sentence proves that I had no life in junior high.

Typical Man

legs sprawled, belly hanging out, remote in hand..."Hey Little Lady, could you be a doll and get that for me.""Hurry up with that frosty mug of ice cold soy milk.""Now run along, your services are no longer needed."

Mia made a car the other day. Notice that she is in the backseat with her seat belt on:
Either she is the perfect little rule-follower, or her domineering parents have put the fear of God in her. I choose to believe the former.

Art project gone terribly bad

So maybe Jackson Pollock is a genius afterall.
I don't care if my brilliant children did it, this aint art.
